“I lived in Costa Rica for most of my life but moved to Texas as soon as possible in 2014. I have been a proud US citizen since 2020.
For the past 21 years, I have worked in the hospitality industry, most of those years in Costa Rica. Previous positions include Groups and Conventions Manager at The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort and Spa; Hospitality Manager at the Reserva Conchal Beach Resort, Golf & Spa; Resort Manager at Hacienda Pinilla Premium Beach Properties and Rentals; and Interim General Manager at the Best Western Sally Port in Roswell, NM.
I am an Assistant General Manager for Drury Hotels and have been with the company for nine years.
Why Electrolysis? Is it a career change?
Even though many factors must be considered when choosing the correct parameters to successfully treat a hair, once I get into my groove zone, I love the mindfulness of it.
My main goal is to help people through phases in life, such as hormonal changes, i.e., PCOS, or improve their lives by removing unwanted hair that causes psychological distress.
Building a personalized treatment plan involves many components, but the most important are your commitment, aftercare, and giving me hair at the correct growth stage to work with.
The length of the treatment depends on the area, hair density, type of hair, time availability, pain tolerance, and budget. With frequent and more prolonged visits at the beginning and sporadic and shorter maintenance visits towards the end, achieving permanent hair removal through the only FDA-approved method is not an inexpensive investment.
Which brings me to my code of ethics, this is what you should expect from me:

I will deliver a quality service where each hair will be individually treated, ensuring a higher success rate.
I will not pluck your hair; the derma papilla will be successfully treated, and the hair will easily slide out.
I will create a treatment plan tailored to be mindful of your hard-earned money; you will get realistic expectations to budget your time and money correctly. To that note, I want you to know that I have invested in the latest technology offered by Apilus in the field of electrolysis; what this means to you is more comfort and faster treatment times.
I do not expect tips; your treatment is expensive, and trusting me with it and allowing me to be part of your journey is rewarding enough.
I hold an MBA in Digital Marketing from Instituto Europeo de Posgrado, Madrid, Spain. I also possess a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, San Jose, Costa Rica.
I enjoy staying active in my free time through CrossFit and rollerblading outdoors. Additionally, I am deeply passionate about rescuing dogs and giving them a second chance at a happy life.
So, is this a career change?
Not at the moment; I genuinely love the hospitality business and the company I get to do it with. I am also very passionate about electrolysis; in the meantime, I am keeping my full-time job and opening the studio 40 hours a week; being the poster child of the American dream is no easy feat :) ” — Andres
